Pete Philly performs exclusive session for Red Bull Music + announces next single

Pete Philly Red Bull studio session

As Pete Philly gears towards his next single and forthcoming shows in Amsterdam & Rotterdam, watch his exclusive performance for Red Bull Music here.

The session showcases unreleased material, including his next single ‘Favorite Song’ which is out on Friday 16th March, following its worldwide premiere on Clash Magazine this Thursday.

Recorded at the Red Bull Studios in Amsterdam, the stream features his first single of 2018, ‘Come Together’, which was supported by the likes of The Independent & Earmilk, as well as forthcoming second single ‘Favorite Song’ and another unreleased track ‘Dear’ – all performed with upcoming producer Melle Jutte.

In the lead up to the session, Pete Philly spoke out about the performance stating that “The reason why I’m doing all this is because I am making music to perform on stage, in front of an audience. I have missed the feeling to connect with an audience that way. So much love and madness will pour out of me, it’s bizarre. This is going to be so special.”

About Pete Philly

From Aruba to Amsterdam, Pete Philly is a multilingual hybrid who came to the Netherlands in his youth. First came the two Pete Philly & Perquisite projects which were supported by QMagazine , DJ Mag UK , BBC 1Xtra – not forgetting being nominated for the MTV EMA’s – and hailed by Talbi Kweli as “Light Years ahead of the game”. Off the back of this success, Pete went on to open shows for artists including James Brown and Kanye West, as well as touring cities, countries & festivals worldwide.

In 2011 Pete then released his two solo projects – putting out the Red Dot and FWA Award winning visual album OpenLoops, which was later lent to Pharrell for his 24hours happy project, as well as the PIAS -signed One which was then followed by a touring schedule which took him to new territories in 2013.

What happened next was unforeseen and took Philly out of the industry. A life threatening illness meant that those years in between were spent on a road to full health and recovery in preparation for his next chapter.
